Frequently Asked Questions

Account & Access

How do I get access?

An administrator creates your user and gives you a personal invite link, QR code, or setup token.

I cannot log in. What should I do?

CongPlan uses passkeys. If your passkey or device is unavailable, ask an administrator for a new invite or device setup link.

Can one congregation see another congregation's data?

No. Congregation data is isolated by tenant. Users only access data for the congregation they belong to.

Installation

Do I have to install an app from an app store?

No. CongPlan is a web app. You can install it as a PWA from the browser for a better app-like experience.

Does CongPlan work offline?

Previously loaded data can remain visible when the connection is temporarily unavailable. Creating or editing users, assignments, tasks, public-witnessing signups, or settings requires an internet connection so the change can be validated and synchronized for the congregation.

Why can I see data but not edit it while offline?

CongPlan separates reading from changing data. Showing already loaded data helps you keep context, but saving a change must happen online so conflicts, permissions, capacity, and current assignments can be checked.

Why do push notifications not work?

Check browser support, HTTPS, notification permissions, and whether CongPlan is installed as a PWA on the device. Some browsers and operating systems restrict web push notifications.

Meetings & Assignments

Where do I see my assignments?

Open User > Plan. The dashboard shows a shorter preview.

How are suggestions generated?

Suggestions can use qualifications, assignment history, availability, and current planning conflicts. Coordinators should still review suggestions before saving.

Do suggestions automatically change the schedule?

No. Suggestions are drafts. They become part of the schedule only when a coordinator reviews and saves the pending changes.

Why am I not suggested for a part?

Check your assignment qualifications, absences, service group context, and whether another conflict already exists.

Public Witnessing

Why do I not see public-witnessing locations?

You need the Public witnessing assignment eligibility. Planners also need the Manage public witnessing permission for the planning page.

Can I remove my signup?

Usually yes, from the public-witnessing day view. If a shift is cancelled or managed by a planner, ask the public-witnessing planner.

Where do public-witnessing shifts appear?

Eligible publishers can see public-witnessing days in the public-witnessing area. Their own signups can also appear in User > Plan next to meeting parts, technical assignments, field service meetings, tasks, and absences.

Privacy & Security

Who can see user data?

Permissions determine the level of visibility. Basic user visibility can expose names and planning context; full user visibility is required for more detailed user data.

Can I use the same account in several congregations?

No. A user belongs to one congregation. This keeps planning, permissions, and data visibility scoped to that congregation.

Are problem reports private?

Problem reports are only sent after confirmation, but screenshots or recordings can contain visible names and assignments. Use them only when needed for support.
